The final unit (for the moment at least) of the 28mm ECW/TYW army has been finished. I bought them at Salute from 1st Corps and I think they fit in well with the other figures:
The rear view!:
I haven't managed to arrange a game for this army yet and it is in danger of disappearing into the background, when I started it there was a bit of interest in 28mm FoGR at the club but that's died out a bit now....

Salute 2019
As usual I paid my annual visit to Salute today.
Over the years I have come to like Salute less and less, the endless queue to get in (though to be fair this has been sorted now really), the rather depressing interior of the Excel centre and the way every year there seems to be more and more fantasy/sci-fi and less historical traders means that if it was not such an easy trip for me (around 30 minutes!) I probably wouldn't go!
I think SELWEG and Warfare are much better shows personally, more historical orientated and in nicer venues.
So, having dragged myself there what did I end up bringing home? Firstly a unit of 12 TYW Cuirassiers from 1st Corps which cost me £23 after a 10% collect from show discount, quite a bit cheaper than the other manufacturers I looked at. The figures look nice enough, somewhat 'old style' but I think they will paint up nicely:

Next I added some heavy artillery and a radio truck plus a couple of jeeps (to make supply line markers) from Pendraken for the 10mm WW2 Americans. An impulse purchase was to add a couple of PzIV to see how they paint up for a potential German army:
Continuing the WW2 theme I bought some Home Guard and 'Characters' from Foundry. These are really nice little models and are remarkably similar to the cast of the 'Dad's Army' TV show! They should go well with my Operation Sealion collection:
The last addition was some more Home Guard from 1st Corps. I thought they looked a little large but when I got them home realised they were in fact giants:
The top left figure is one of the Foundry Home Guard while the bottom left is one of my British force so it is very apparent how much bigger the 1st Corps ones are. I'm not bothered about a slight difference in size but these look ridiculously bigger so I'm not sure if I will use them or not, I should have just bought more of the Foundry ones!
I didn't really see anything else that I especially wanted, though I did pick up some extra pre-cut wooden bases as well. As ever I'm not convinced I'll bother going next year!

Maharbal and Mago!
Completing the new generals for the 28mm Carthaginian army from 1st Corps first up we have Maharbal and his standard bearer:
Not quite sure about the colours for these two especially the green cloak on Maharbal.
Finally Mago, no standard bearer for him as I only had two Carthaginian standard bearers:
I think the colour scheme for Mago worked better, but then he has no cloak so it was a simple choice of tunic and horse colour.
Hopefully they will get their first outing in a couple of weeks...….

Hannibal and Massinissa!
After my last game with the literally ancient 25mm Carthaginians it was apparent that the general figures were very much on their last legs and that any more use would result in broken legs. They seemed too fragile to repair either so it was time to recruit some new ones to take the strain!
Looking at a few manufacturers 1st Corps seemed the best bet to fit in with my older style figures plus they did some Bren Gun teams I needed for my CoC BEF so I ordered a 'Hannibal' pack, a pack of Punic Cavalry Command and a pack of Numidian Cavalry Command plus the Bren Gun teams.
Hannibal and his standard bearer were the first to be painted:

He looks like a grizzled veteran in this sculpt and the figures do fit in well with my old ones. The standard bearer I think disturbingly looks a bit like Lemmy from Motorhead with that moustache, ready to burst into 'The Ace of Spades' at the slightest opportunity!
Next up was Massinissa with his standard bearer:
There was an option with 1st Corps for a 'Numidian General' but that figure was mounted on the same armoured horse as the ones above which I wasn't too keen on, preferring the simple look for the Numidian King.
With the remaining figures I will do Hasdrubal and Mago to give four generals for the army.
