Midgard again against Dave, this time using two armies which I painted for Infamy but then sold to Dave as I wasn't that impressed with Midgard. I took the Romans tasked with defending a hill while Dave had the Britons aiming to destroy the invaders.
The Romans prepare to meet the Barbarian hordes:
Chariots and slingers exchange fire:
British warbands prepare to storm the hill:
Chariots and cavalry attack the centre:
The slingers hold on:
Half the Romans win and push on off the hill, the other half break and run:
More Romans leave the hill in the centre but the flanks are collapsing:
Only a few Romans remain , they won't last long and the battle is over:
Nice to get to play with these armies again, the Romans were rather overwhelmed despite having the hill to defend (though probably foolishly I moved some of them off the hill!). Having played a few games of Midgard now I think it is a nice set of rules but I'm not sure I'll play it a lot partly due to not really having that many armies suitable for it. I'm sure if I had a 28mm Fantasy army I'd be much keener, fortunately I'm not keen enough to buy and paint such an army!
